Townsfolk Greet the Regulators - 3rd of Melting
Upon their return back from the Mountains many of the townsfolk greeted the Regulators in the Town Square. Those in the town square were eager to hear about what they found up in the caves in the mountains and were shocked when told.
The woodsmen were very grateful for the timely assistance from the Regulators. They offered to lend their expertise with woodworking to help up with repairs and such around their family's houses (help with fencing, wall repairs, etc.) as a form of payment.
Meanwhile, during the past week, the townsfolk have reported strange sounds coming from the whispering woods. Hunters reported animals were more skittish than normal and were seen fleeing Eastward through the woods. They also reported strange shoulds like metal ringing has echoed through the woods in the late evening.
The mayor has asked the Regulators if they could further investigate what is happening in the Whispering Wood. Perhaps the strange sounds are related to the attack on the Woodsmen.

What if anything have the woodsmen and/or hunters seen in the Whispering Woods since we "cleaned" the area out?
Has Pyril seen or heard anything? Has he spoken with the Dryad, Nepharil? If he hasn't, I would like to journey into the woods with the help of one or two of the Regulators and/or Pyril to speak with her regarding the status of the woods.
Also, anyone in town, local or otherwise, know of a person named Kritchnor? Kritchnor, as the Regulators I'm sure are aware, is the one who wrote the note to Zagmet, the Hobgoblin trapmaker/wolf-trainer who was trying to keep the local Grey Deepers away from the Whispering Woods.
Seraph
Seraph,
I have taken it upon myself to do some investigations into this matter.
The animals have reported that there are strange tall wolf-like creatures in the western wood who slaughter anything they find for sport. I wasn't able to find out more as I was sidetracked by various Kobold traps and small trolls. It will take me several days time to re-stock my supplies and head back out.
In the meantime, I think the Regulators need to take care of the Kobold infestation before it becomes more serious. They are making a mess of things around the edge of the Marshland and bothering passersby. Getting rid of them will allow me to dig deeper into what's happening in the Whispering Woods.
Pyril
Excellent Pyril. As usual your skills and knowledge of the woods are unsurpassed. On behalf of the Regulators, I would like to extend our appreciation for assisting us and Grey Deep. We will work diligently to resolve the infestation problem in the meantime and report our findings to you when we have a chance.
May the Morning Sun ever be your guide,
Seraph Dawnbringer
