17th of Elient - Jode Oldens new Baby
Today the Olden house was the scene of a flurry of activity this morning.
The Griffon egg which Jode had recovered from the body in the forest began to hatch in the early morning hours. The local wrangler, Stephan Heseril was called in to assist in the bonding process and to help explain the proper rearing for a Griffon.
"It is important that you be one of the first creatures the newborn sees, " Stephan whispered as he moved Jode into place.
"The baby will look to you to provide it food and shelter in its first month." Stephan slides over a plate filled with grub worms before he continues to speak. "After a month the baby will look to you as it's parent and will be more trusting of you."
Stephan stands up to stretch while watching the Griffon create tiny cracks in the side of the egg. It wouldn't be too long before he or she is able to break through. "Taking care of this little one will be difficult and time consuming, even more so with your position in the community. If you do not want to keep it, I would be more than happy to purchase it from you. Likewise if you want it trained in as a mount, I can provide that service for you as well. It would be an expensive effort however, and would cost 1,500 GP"
Stephan looks to Jode to see what his decision may be regarding the newborn Griffon.

Stephan gives Jode a hearty slap on the back and laughs out loud.
"Indeed Jode, you will be quite the sight on a Griffon."
No sooner does Stephan utter those words than a beak begins to pierce the shell of the egg. Within mere moments the baby Griffon has cracked it's way out of the shell. The colors of it's feathers are a deep rusty red an orange.
Stephan leans in close and looks the baby over.
"Looks like you've got yourself a baby girl Jode."
Stephan then slides back and allows Jode to move in close and begin feeding his new arrival.

::: In the morning of the 18th, Seraph and Rohavic gather outside the Church of Lathander.
Seraph finishes packing various gear on his horse and lifts himself onto the mount. Turning to Rohavic, Seraph speaks. :::
"Well my friend, shall we depart? I don't think any of the other Regulators will be joining us today. "
::: Seraph looks up at the sky and closes his eyes. He takes a deep inhale of the morning air and smiles. :::
"It is a good morning and Lathander is with us. I only wish the rest of our companions could join us."
