4th of Eleasis - Crafting Timeframes
I wanted to post an entry to help those out there decide what (if anything) they want the Dwarves to create for them. If you wish to request something be made, reply to this posting indicating what item(s) you want created and you'll get a response for when the item will be ready.
Here is a simple table outlining basic construction time to build any of these items. All numbers represent days to craft the item. BLACK is if you are not using any Special Materials, GREEN is if you are using Special Materials, and RED is if Tom assists with the Special Materials. Characters will simply need to supply the special material and the Dwarves will create the specified dwarvencraft item. NOTE: For items not crafted using Special Materials these will need to be purchased at the normal going rate. If a rate isn't listed it isn't available
What do they get in return? Well, the player gets a Family Crest which is attached to the armor (not shields or weapons). This crest may later be made magical (as if it were an amulet), but does not take up an Amulet body slot. Also, players who wish to take this route, must design their Family Crest for all to see. Since this armor is being personalized, selling it will be slightly more difficult. Consequently instead of the normal 50% of the cost, these items can be sold for only 40%. Small price to pay for an extra magic slot though.

:::One evening while the Regulators are enjoying an evening of food and drink with the Dwarves. Seraph turns to Vig, the mastersmith and rodent killer:::
Good dwarf Vig I have been watching your skills as a weaponsmith improve greatly over the past and wonder if your talents extend to that of armor. As you probably have witnessed I tend to be rather soft in the middle. If we're going to continue to get into these damn melee encounters I'm afraid I won't survive long without some sort of protection. Especially in the middle of my body, the "buttergut" region if you will.
So, I was thinking you might be able to create some kind of protection for me. The only problem is that the armor needs to be extremely fluid with my body. Unfortunately, my arcane talents are restricted by armor. Now I'm sure one of the dwarves here could create a nice suit of armor but I doubt they could create something as superior or dwarven as I've seen you create. Therefore, I have a deal to offer you.
I will buy you some of those fancy Tongs of the Armorsmith (2100 gold) if you create a dwarvencraft chainshirt of mithril for me. In addition, you may ignore the dept (570 gold) you owed me for the Hammer of the Weaponsmith.
What do you think good masterdwarf?
Thank you masterdwarf. Then here you go, some Tongs of the Armorsmith.
If you wouldn't mind, I would like to assist you while crafting the armor. I would like a symbol of Lathandar to be on it.
When can you start?
I just wanted to post this message. I realized after reviewing this last blog entry that it was pretty confusing. So to make all this business clearer, I've made the following adjustments.
The Dwarves will now craft Dwarvencraft level equipment instead of just Masterwork. After crunching the numbers, leaving it at Masterwork just didn't make much sense anymore.
Also, I revamped the listing so hopefully it should be easier to read. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to post your comments.
Hope this doesn't screw anybody up.
Thanks,
GM (Rob)
(as Brannic)
"Honorable Meriti Goblinender, I would like to graciously accept the offer of your skill clansmen. I realize that each of us gets only one of the stations for this magical forge so I'll start with the simple items first. If the skilled Armorers could craft for me a Chain Shirt and a set Dastanas of remarkable Dwarvencraft quality similar to what my cohort Vig has shown me, that would be great. I don't need them out of special materials, just steel would be fine. I figure this should take 7 days to complete both items. Once this is done, if they could start work on a Dwarvencraft Great Spear made of Arandur. It should take about 39 days to create the spear, so I'll stop back to pick it up when it's ready."
Reaches into his pocket and draws forth a bag laden with Gold Pieces.
"For the work on the Chain Shirt and Dastanas, heres is the Gold to cover expenses and labor - 1025 GP. (550 GP for Chain Shirt, 475 GP for Dastanas). Plus here is an additional 175 GP to assist with efforts in the mines here. Your presence here is a boon to the local community and I'd like to help any way I can."
Brannic then bows deeply and shakes Meriti's hand.

Good friend and mastersmith Vig,
I'm not sure if you'll be occupied with your own crafting so if you want, I can ask one of the other dwarves to assist me.
Let me know so I can ask them.
Thanks and may your stomach be everfull of mead and your axe sharp.
To help some folks with the timetables, I figure you all have until the 20th of Eleasis before you will be returning to town.
That gives you 16 days to craft your items.
If an item can't be finished by this time, I'll post the date when it will be ready.
Please be sure to post your item creation requests as soon as you can.
Thanks - GM
Meriti slaps Jode on the shoulder and lets out a hearty laugh.
"Jode, a marvelous choice in weapon both in materials as well as name. We will begin immediately to craft you your Darksteel Arandur Greatsword. It will be inscribed with your words as well as tales of your deeds and Silence shall be its name!"
Meriti turns and hands the ingots to a nearby Dwarf. He then turns back to
"Come now Jode, tell me more of this Dragon you helped defeat"
As Jode and Meriti walk down a long hallway deep in conversation, a dwarf covered from head to toe in ash and soot comes forward with a tablet with some scribblings on it. He looks at the rest of the Regulators.
"So let's see here. Brannic is it? From what I see here, you are going to be keeping station #1 busy for quite some time. While you should be able to pick up your Dastanas and Chain Shirt in a couple of days, I don't see your new spear ready till the 21st of Eleint."
Blowing some ash off the tablet he continues and lightly dusting it with his grimy hand he continues.
"For that little fella who just left, can someone tell him we have his work assigned to station #2 and should have his Greatsword ready by the 7th of Eleint?"
He then looks up from his tablet and looks at Seraph and Vig.
"Well now you just missed Meriti so you'll have to deal with me. Let's see, you want to take up 2 stations huh? Well since your skinny friend over there ", he points at Jellen, " isn't taking us up on this offer I suppose that's ok."
He looks down again at his tablet and starts mumbling some numbers you can't quite hear.
"Ok, we will do your Mithril Dastana's on Station #4 and can have them ready by the 22nd of Eleasis. Now as for this Chain Shirt your talking about. With Vig's assistance, it will take station #5 until the 20th of Eleasis to have that ready. Say isn't that when you folks were leaving? I thought that's what I heard Meriti say. Anyways, if that's true, you won't have time to work on the crest and scribble down those scrolls you've been talkin about. Is that still what you want to do?"
Meriti nods to a familiar looking grimy Dwarf, named Dernin, who approaches Rohavic and takes the 4 Mithril ingots.
Dernin then starts rummaging through his pack until he pulls out a familiar looking tablet.
"Well now, Rohavic is it? Let's see what we can do for you." He scribbles some figures onto his tablet and looks up at the tall elf.
"Mithril Dastanas and Mithril Chain Shirt. I'll assign these items to Station #6. We should have the Dastana's ready by the 23rd of Eleasis. The Chain Shirt will take a bit longer though and won't be ready until the 11th of Eleint. Is that alright with you? Also, since you folks won't be here the whole time I'm afraid you won't be getting the crest on this armor. Just wanted to mention that."
With that last comment Dernin extends his soot covered hand to Rohavic.
:::Pondering the ash covered dwarf's statement to Seraph:::
Scribble or armor? Hmmm, well I hope we get some free time back at Greys Deep after the armor is constructed. I'm not sure if my fellow Regulators can take a pounding without my scrolls. Well, I'm sure we'll be fine, Lathander willing.
Go ahead with the armor Dernin but let me show you how the crest should look...
