Midsummer (Annual Holiday)
The town of Grey's Deep held the annual Midsummer holiday festivities today. (Midsummer is a Holiday which occurs after the 30th of Flamerule).
Families gathered along the beaches to the lake today to celebrate the joys of Summer. Local vendors were on hand to give out toys to the children and sell local delicasies.
A troupe of travelling artisans and entertainers came to town today. They will be setting up a small pavillion to help celebrate Shieldmeet tomorrow (Shieldmeet is a holiday which occurs after Midsummer once every 4 years).
The townsfolk seemed to forget the troubles they suffered through the past couple of months as they mingled with each other in a time of celebration.
As the day withdrew into evening, the town's resident scribe and alchemist, Enin Rayod, provided the town with some arcane pyrotechnics to entrance the crowds on shore. From a boat out on the lake, Enin sent colorful lights and explosions skyward. The children seemed most impressed with the display and they cheered the loudest.
At the end of the festivies for the day, Mayor Baugh came up to the impromptu stage and read a speach thanking everyone for coming. He also offered a wish to Lathander that the Regulators fared well on their journey and prayed for their safe and quick return.
This speech drew a loud applause from the crowd.
