25th of Flamerule (Summertide) - Strange visions in the Night
The past several Ten Days have seen many strange things happen at night in the town of Grey's Deep.
Patrols walking the fence line at night have heard strange noises of flesh ripping and bone snapping. Investigating these noises the following morning they have found the mutilated corpses of over a dozen deer.
People in town have also reported seeing strange wispy shapes 'floating' near the temple of Lathander. The shapes didn't seem to last long and no one could provide a good description of what they saw. Cleric Toler Banrak has assured the public that the church is fine, though this doesn't seem to disuade people from watching it at night for glimpses of these strange apparitions.
Also, several fishermen including Handir Gamelyn, have found their boats damaged during the night. Apparently they were hit by a bombadment of stones. The stones weren't as big as the Greengrass, perhaps around 20 lbs or so, but were thrown or dropped with enough force to wreck a number of boats and the dock.
Anxiety in the town is growing. People are becomming scared that some sort of attack on the town in imminent. Some talk of closing the town off to strangers, other think the problems are being caused by the Giants from the mountains. There are some villagers who are fed up with all this and simply want to leave.
