Fence Project Proceeding Well - 16th of Melting
Work has proceeded slowly on the fence on the Western edge of town. Folks have spent the day busily digging holes for the large fence posts but so far the posts have only been planted for about 1/10 of the length needed.
Progress is slow but the fence foreman estimates it will take at least another 8 or 9 days before all the post holes are dug and in place. Once they are in place, the fence building should speed up considerably.
The town is abuzz with news of the return of Jellen and Seraph from the woods this afternoon. Once they arrived, contables quickly spirited them away to speak directly with the Mayor and the City Council. They met in closed session for about an hour before they left to help with the wall. Word is that an official statment will be announced in the following morning.

Caurus,
I am also a follower of Lathander and was not invited to the meeting. I would appreciate it if you please keep your derisive religious comments to yourself. I can't speak for Jellen or Seraph, but I know I don't appreciate them.
Also, you need to realize that while you are an important member of the town, that doesn't mean you are going to be a part of every meeting that goes on.
In other words - LIGHTEN UP!

::: Stopping only briefly as constables are escorting Seraph to the City Council :::
Caurus, my young friend, are we not brothers in a spiritual sense?
I mean you no ill will; I have only the best of intentions and thoughts for you. And I certainly mean you no disrespect. You are a young man with great potential, a testament to the teachings of Shaundakul. In fact, I look forward to all that I may learn from you about your god and your faith.
So, if you have a problem with something then address that issue in a civil way. Aren’t we all friends here? If you continue to antagonize individuals you may find that you've bitten off more then you can chew, even with your friends.
We are a team and therefore we all rely on each other. If we start antagonizing each other we may lose a sense of trust, which may lead to our demise and possibly even the town’s downfall.
Maybe you're eager to prove yourself to us and the town. However, in my book you already have. And I think it's safe to assume that the rest of the Regulators think the same.
We'll talk again later, but right now I have to run...
::: Running to catch up with constables :::
::: As the constables escort Jellan & Seraph into the Mayor's chambers, the Council prepares to hear what the two Regulators have to say. Seraph begins :::
Councilmember’s & honorable mayor, I am speaking to you on behalf of the Regulators in regard to our recent findings from Nepharil, the Dryad of the Whispering Woods.
First off, while on our trek through the woods to find Nepharil we heard the sound of hammer on stone way off to the west. We were uncertain as to what this sound was exactly and if it was perhaps just a figment of our imagination. The wind was blowing rather strong that day. However, it may suggest that our conflict lies in that direction.
After some time, Nepharil finally revealed herself to us. We then began our petition for her aid. She listened intently but ultimately couldn't offer us much of any information.
However, she did tell us of another. His name is Birchnor and he resides on the East side of the woods. Perhaps he is a great caretaker of the woods, for she claimed him to be as old as the first saplings that grew in the valley.
The one problem is that Birchnor does not trust any but those that have the blood of Fey within them. Nepharil did suggest that a tribute may be a way to gain an audience with Birchnor. Therefore, Jellan and I gathered 1000 acorns found near Nepharil's tree. Nepharil then used her fey powers to enhance these mere acorns into something more. For the acorns turned into a beautiful shade of copper with the mere clippings of her hair.
Nepharil is indeed a wondrous being.
:: Seraph then waves his hands around a bit and speaks a simple word of magic. An image of Nepharil appears, at least a crude representation. ::
This does not do her justice, but it is imperative you see her beauty.
:: Then a look of disgust comes across Seraph’s face. ::
Bah! This does not do her justice!
:: Then with a wave of his hand the image is gone. Seemingly lost in thought, Seraph then gathers himself and once again addresses the council. ::
You must understand that Nepharil represents all that is beautiful in nature. She has been both generous and helpful and even referred to us as friends. We and all the town of Grey's Deep are without a doubt exceptionally lucky to have such a rare ally and beautiful friend.
As such, it is my wish that the town should offer some sort of gift or tribute to her once we resolve the problem that troubles us in the Whispering Woods.
As to the disappearance of Pyril, we cannot say. Nepharil saw no sign of him recently. To me this indicates that he has been captured or killed or perhaps he is seeking Birchnor’s guidance as well. Either way, without knowing what has happened to him, I do not believe we can act until we know more information.
So, in summary, we need to seek out Birchnor. I suggest that the Regulators, including Caurus the Chosen, Jellan the Pious, Vig the Drunk, Jode the Merry, Brannic the Bold and I travel to Birchnor’s location, offer him the tribute of copper acorns and hope that he is willing to offer us some assistance and information about the west side of the Whispering Woods.
::: Seraph then looks at Jelan :::
Do you have anything to add?
Well, well, well...Seraph the Preacher, you have spoke many delightful words on this matter.
all I can do is summerize the events for those of us that have shorter attention spans.
1. We traveled to the edge of the Whispering Woods and met up with beautiful Dryad known as Nepharil.
2. Discussed with her the various concerns/current events of Grey's Deep such as the invading monsters and the disappearance of Pyril.
3. Nepharil told us to seek out Birchnor for advise, but we would need to have tribute.
4. We gathered 1000 acorns for what seemed like an eternity.
5. Nepharil cut her hair and put the clippings into our bowl of acorns.
6. Nepharil drew a small map of where to find Birchnor.
7. Gather and rally the Regulators as we need to travel to find Birchnor immediately.
8. Regulators are to give the speical hairy acorn tribute offering to Birchnor so he will speak with us.
::: Jellen then looks back at Seraph :::
Did I miss any thing Seraph?
::: Before Seraph can begin to speak Jellen then looks at rest of Regulator's and says :::
Does anyone have any questions?
:::Seraph looks around at the Council and the Mayor, then whispers quietly to Jellan:::
Jellan, you and I are the only Regulators present. It seems your attention span is closing on oblivious. You weren't nipping at the sacramental wine again, were you?
:::Seraph then turns to the Council:::
Ah, if you don't have any questions for us, we'll be off to relay this information to the rest of the Regulators. I know several of them are anxious to hear the news and make preparations based on your decision.
:::Seraph turns again to Jellan and whispers once more, but in a more stern tone:::
I don't appreciate your tone regarding the gathering of the acorns. I would have gathered a thousand times a thousand for Nepharil. Ahh, sweet Nepharil. Her beauty lingers in my mind, heart and soul...
:::Seraph gazes off in the distance apparently lost in thought:::
Oh my apologies, for some reason I thought Caurus, Jode and Vig followed us in, but I guess not. I think Seraph said it all. Does the Mayor or Coucil have any questions on what has been presented here?
The Mayor speaks - "No dear boy I do believe you both have given us much to discuss. We will delibrate on your findings and make an announcement to the town tomorrow." The rest of the town council members nod in agreement.
With that the Mayor and town Council stand up and praise you for your quick work and bid you good day as the Constables escort you back outside the town hall.
::: Seraph & Jellan leave the mayor's chambers so they may enlighten them about their journey to Nepharil. :::
