17th of Marenpoth - Meriti Departs
An icy breeze was in the air this morning. A thin layer of frost covered the landscape as residents awoke to the morning sun. The sky was a bright blue without a trace of clouds to be seen.
By mid morning the Meriti and the other Dwarves had packed their gear and started the day and a half journey back up the trail to the mines. A couple of villagers wandering by the Olden Inn stopped by to give the Dwarves as small sendoff.
After their departure the town seemed to fall quiet. People walked about is muted silence. The arrival of the Dwarves filled people with a sense of safety. It was nice to know that they were others in the area who were willing to help out. Though that didn't change the fact that over the past year the tiny town of Grey's Deep seemed to become a magnet for an increasing level of malice and bad luck.
Activity at the Church of Lathander was as busy as it had been the past several days. Many people went in to meet with Abbot Toler. Candles could be seen burning late into the evening most nights these days in the church.
Can he find a solution to the portal before something comes through?
Will the Dwarves plan work in preventing more incursions?
These were thoughts that many people were thinking about.

Stephan Heseril stopped by the Olden Inn this morning to inform Jode of the progress of his baby Griffon.
After a month of care and bonding the Griffon is now ready to begin some basic training.
"Jode I think over the next couple of days if you can spend a couple of hours with me and your baby girl it will help speed things along. Say, now would also be an excellent time to come up with a name for her. Have you picked one out?"
After hearing about the recent visit by Stephan Heseril, Rohavic mentions that he has a great name for the little griffon...
"How about Large Odd Bird-like Being, LOBB?", chuckles Rohavic.
Brannic chuckles at Rohavic suggestion, "Well so far the little girl doesn't have a name so maybe LOBB will stick."
