23rd of Marenpoth - Portal Attacked!

Agents of Kritchnor took advantage of the Regulators absence to assault the Portal and bring creatures through. One of the two guards was killed in the ambush by Neknari and his Bugbear minions. The surviving guard mentioned a huge four-armed creature with the head of a dog was accompanying the foul creatures as they departed the area.

Upon arriving at the scene, the Regulators were able to determine that the portal entrance has been significantly enlarged. No doubt Neknari was able to expand the portal to bring the huge creature through.

Meriti and 20 of his dwarven artisans were late arriving into town today as well. Apparently there was a rockslide which delayed their arrival by a day. Even though they marched through the day to get here, they quickly understood the danger the portal presented and immediately went to work on securing the cave.

Dwarved, Regulators and Town Guards all pitched in and worked though the night and all through the next day. By sunset on the 24th, a series of large cut slabs now completely blocked the portal.

Exhausted, the workers dragged themselves back to town and spent the entire next day resting and recuperating from their efforts.
