28th of Marenpoth - Regulators Assemble!

The day had been much colder the normal for this time of year, a heavy frost in the morning lingered for much of the day. Water that was still pooled from the rain yesterday was frozen in small pockets on the ground.

The light from the sun also seemed muted today. A dreary gloom covered the valley throughout the daylight hours. Only the fresh smell of wood fires in the air seemed to brighten folks' spirit throughout the day.

As the sun was slowly setting on the Western horizon, a sound like distant rolling thunder could be heard echoing from the Mountains just north of town. The sound seemed to be getting louder and closer as time wore on.

Hearing the dreadful noice, many of the townspeople ran to their home as a fear of the demons return stuck their mind.

The sound became louder and clearer as the minutes wore on. One could tell that the noise seemed to be that of many hooves pounding on the stone paths.

Rolling into the edge of town at a breakneck pace were 4 huge wagons, 3 of which were empty with large flat wooden racks on the outside. Each of the three empty wagons were equipped with large fat tires an were drawn by 6 large horses. The other was a covered wagon that looked like it could store food and other items. It was also pulled by 6 horses.

The driver of the lead wagon could be heard as they barreled past the sentries on the northern part of the village, "HELP! HELP! We were attacked and need HELP! Yelled a large human with red hair and beard. "

The town guards quickly gathered on the scene to assist the travellers.

The driver hopped off the wagon and began yelling to the guards, "We were attacked and need medical help for two of my men."

At that moment, two Half orcs came out of the back of the covered wagon with what looked like several people covered in blankets

A moment later, several of the acolytes from the church of Lathander arrived and offered their assistance.

The half-orcs laid the people on the ground, and the acolytes moved the blankets to look at the injuries. Screams could be heard and some ran from the scene.

The faces of both men were badly torn and their arms also were covered in blood and mangled. One of the individuals was actually missing an arm.

The acolytes instructed the visitors to gather up their comrades and bring them to the Church of Lathander right away. The two burly half-orcs picked up their comrades and they all ran to the church.

"I must speak to the town leader," said the red haired man. "It’s very important. "

One of the town guards ran off to get the Mayor. Mayor Baugh arrived several minutes later and asked what was going on. The red-bearded man whispered something to the mayor.

The Mayor Baugh had a look of concern cross his face, and yelled to one of the town guards, “Send word to the Regulators and the Council members that we need to meet imemediately”.

26th of Marenpoth - Tragidor arrives

On a cold autumn morning, a large familiar train of wagons arrived today. Tragidor once again returns to trade goods with the local townsfolk.

The wagon train is a bit longer than usual. Several of the local merchants placed orders with Tragidor for their winter supplies and they are now just starting to trickle in.

"My good friends, the season has been generous to me. Allow me to share my generosity with you by allowing you to purchase some of the rare collectibles I have stumbled across."

Tragidor pulls a wooden chest from underneath his seat on the wagon and sets it on a nearby table. He unlocks it and sets 6 different items on the table for people to see.

  1. A forest green tinted metal ring with miniature shields inscribed along the edges available for only 2,000 gp (Ring of Protection +1)
  2. A slender birch twig with small tufts of white and grey hair entwined along its edge 1,800 gp (Wand of Cat's Grace - 20 charges)
  3. A shriveled up dessicated severed hand with runes inscribed along each finger. A metal loop allows it to be worn around the neck - 900 gp (Hand of the Mage)
  4. A worn set of leather goggles with brass eagle head emblems attached at the temples - 1,250 gp (Goggles of Minute Seeing)
  5. A coil of extremely fine rope made of a very light but tough material 3,000 gp (Rope of Climbing)
"Is anyone here interested in any of these gems?"

25th of Marenpoth - Town still in shock

Even with the portal now sealed, many townsfolk wonder if the creatures which were pulled through were going to assault the town.

Mayor Baugh has ordered the fence patrols doubled for the time being and citizens are to report any strange or odd behavior to the town guard as soon as possible.

Meriti and his Dwarven brethren have spent the past several days in meetings with the Mayor and City Council going over matters of mutual security. The Dwarves don't like the sound of demons running loose in the mountain valley any better than the townsfolk.

With the leaves turning color and the winter chill on the evening air, the warm autumn days are being readily replaced by the bleak cold of oncoming winter.
