Fence Project Proceeding Well - 16th of Melting

Work has proceeded slowly on the fence on the Western edge of town. Folks have spent the day busily digging holes for the large fence posts but so far the posts have only been planted for about 1/10 of the length needed.
Progress is slow but the fence foreman estimates it will take at least another 8 or 9 days before all the post holes are dug and in place. Once they are in place, the fence building should speed up considerably.

The town is abuzz with news of the return of Jellen and Seraph from the woods this afternoon. Once they arrived, contables quickly spirited them away to speak directly with the Mayor and the City Council. They met in closed session for about an hour before they left to help with the wall. Word is that an official statment will be announced in the following morning.

Town begins work on the western border - 15th of Melting

The town was abuzz this morning as over 3 dozen townsfolk reported to the Old Lumbermill to pick up supplies and tools to begin building the new fence along the Western border.

Pyril's apprentices escorted Jellen and Seraph to the town border and wished them well on their journey to find out what's going on in the woods. Hope rests on their return.

Some other important notices were posted on the town board this morning as well:

-The local blacksmith is busy working on building new tools as well as nails and other necessary implements. The local Dwarves who normally build armor are pitching in to help the community out in their time of need. Anyone else with metal working experience is encouraged to assist.
-The woodsmen are busy hauling timber from the cospses near the village to speed up production of wood for the fence. Anyone who can assist in either the felling of trees or their transportation are encouraged to go to the South end of town and assist.
-The Mayor posted a notice indicating the town's reserve coffers would not be able to pay for all the necessary materials and labor. He estimates the town will be about 1,000 GP short after depleting the town's reserves. A call has gone out to the more affluent townsfolk to see if they can assist with this shortfall.
