Townhall Meeting - 14th of Melting

Mayor Baugh called a meeting of the entire town today to discuss the recent events which has shaken the quiet mountain community.

Recent days have had a Hobgoblin and his wolves harassing and attacking foresters and woodsmen in the Whispering Woods. On top of that a warband of Kobolds has been attacking travellers coming into and out of the valley. These Kobolds were also responsible for some of the thefts and vandalism experienced by folks at the edge of town.

Townsfolk have expressed their anxiety and concern over the safety of the town and want to know what can be done about this.

The Mayor told them that Constable Varuin and Mr. Enin were able to interrogate the prisoner captured by the Regulators. From these interrogations they have determined that there is a force at work trying to keep people from the Whispering Woods. This force is comprised of more Kobolds and other fell creatures like Gnolls. No one yet knows who or what this evil force actually is. Pyril left several days to investigate further the happenings of the woods but has not returned.

Several townsfolk have brought up the idea of leaving the valley and heading south, while others talked about setting up armed watch towers at the Western border of town.

Others offered the idea of trying to negotiate with the person/people responsible to see if a peaceful solution could be found.

Rothlas Kakal yelled at the end of the meeting that an armed party should be sent into the woods to clear the vermin out. At the mention of this, all eyes seemed to drift towards the gathered Regulators sitting near the front by the mayor.

The Mayor at this point opened the floor up to the Regulators to see if they had any thoughts on what could/should be done.

"What say you Regulators?"

Townfolk still on edge - 13th of Melting

With the routing of the Kobold warband from the Troll Marshes the attacks on nearby travellers has stopped.

Locals still seem a bit on edge however. The sleepy town of Grey's Deep seems to have suddenly become a magnet for trouble and many wonder why.

Jacer Varuin, the local constable, has had limited success interrogating the kobold named "Hess".

With the assistance of Enin Rayod, the town scribe and alchemist, Jacer has been able to determine this group of miscreants was meant to scout the toughness of the town for the main warband.

It is not known where the rest of the warband is hiding out, but it seems the problems recently solved may be just the tip of the iceberg of what's to come.

Mayor Baugh has called for a town-wide meeting tomorrow to discuss the news from the Regulators and the Constable. He hopes to solicit ideas on how to handle the new goings on.

Daring raid by unknown bandits - 10th of Melting

A band of unknown bandits broke into Mr. Koskin's barn overnight and made off with several of his penned sheep.

It isn't known who stole the animals, but lots of small humanoid footprints were spotted at the scene.

Mr. Koskin is asking for help in protecting his farm from these bandits. His family relies on their sheep for making fabric and providing food for the family.
